CIT Wildcats Show Some Promise Despite Loss

The CIT Wildcats fans may have something to smile about for the future of the team. New head coach Ibet Demape has brought in positive changes to the team and some rookies look promising. CIT still lost its opening assignment of the 9th CeSAFI season to UC, 94-79. But the Wildcats kept the game close until the early 3rd quarter and had a good run to cut UC's lead in the 4th frame.

The quartet of rookies Marko Elmaga(6'6", C), Marco Sagmon(5'11", G/F) , Christian Taboada(5'9", SG) and Chester Curso(6'0", SG/SF) combined for 44 points against UC. Elmaga scored 7 points on 3 of 3 field goals, two of those shots were against Fajardo: a short stab and a reverse lay-up off an offensive rebound. Marco Sagmon is a Whitey Almonte play-alike who makes up for his lack of height with great hustle. Former UC high school star Christian Taboada has also moved to CIT injecting life into its backcourt. Curso also gives CIT's wing position a much needed boost.

So while they may not make noise this season, probably they will next season.
